Matt Shank BIOGRAPHY: Matt came to me to assist him in recording his many wonderful and varied songs. Matt amazes me with is broad range of styling and vocal dexterity. Each song seems to be from a different composer and singer, but with an underlying uniformity that allows the listener to connect to the music. This will probably be the most interesting project I have ever worked on, mostly because of the varying styles of music, and the amazing melodies and lyrics that Matt has composed. PROJECT DETAILS: Matt knew exactly what instrumentation he wanted, and would sometimes sing a guitar part, as he heard it in his head. It was a challenge at times to find what he was looking for, but these songs turned out pretty good! Matt plays guitar on some tracks, other than that, I am playing all of the other instruments. In many cases, we recorded Matt doing background vocals. The feeling is intentionally casual, as the songs speak for themselves with a few minor imperfections left in. WORD FROM THE CLIENT: coming soon . . . MUSIC: 'Mrs. Cotton' - Another very original and melodic tune by Matt, reminiscent of early Beatles compositions. 'Way To Your Heart' - An other of Matt's originals with a reggae feel. Very memorable melody line, again demonstrating Matt's unique variety of styles. 'Love In July' - A sexy original song with a Santana feel to it. Among the instrumentation is our horn section. 'Bubblegum Pop Rock' - A very melodic and memorable original song by Matt.
